TANAMERA opened at number one on the global Afrobeat chart, a first for the Sunbeat roster. The single crossed four million streams within seven days of release, driven by editorial support in Lagos, London and Paris.

A slow-burning anthem

Built around a talking-drum figure recorded in a single take, TANAMERA sits between the classic highlife tradition and the sparse, bass-forward production of modern Afrobeat. The brass arrangement was cut live with a six-piece section.
