The sound of Lagos nights, one street at a time

Field recordings, danfo horns and church choirs — the samples hidden across the last EP.

The sound of Lagos nights, one street at a time

Every track on Lagos Nights carries something recorded outside a studio: a generator hum, a bus conductor calling a route, a choir rehearsing through an open window in Yaba.

Listening as research

The city has a rhythm you cannot program. Walk any market at closing time and you hear counter-rhythms nobody wrote down. We spent months collecting those before writing a single melody.

  • Danfo horn — bar one of Palm City
  • Rain on zinc — the intro of Sunbeat
  • Market chatter — the bridge of Midnight Drum
